Member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI - IWCA I 14.1) Committee since its inception. This ANSI Committee produces the Regulation titled "Safety Requirements Window Cleaning". This industry Consensus Safety Standard published in October 2001, is the most comprehensive documentation of accepted practices for window cleaning safety and access equipment.
Assisted in the organization of the Chicago Coalition of Metal Maintenance Contractors to raise the level of safety and negotiate a fair collective bargaining agreement with the New York based Local 8A-28A. Served as Secretary to the Coalition 1998-99.
Served as the first Chairman and a Trustee of the International Window Cleaner Certification Institute (IWCCI) for the training and certification of window cleaners. Service One, Inc. is also a Charter Member of this non-profit training institute.
Author of articles concerning window cleaning safety and exterior building maintenance techniques and safety. Named as an expert witness in window cleaning accidents and has been consulted by various groups to provide expert input relative to litigation.
